The Westside Fellowship

The church of Jesus Christ has many mandates in Scripture, however as a local fellowship we have identified five heart values that guide us and help to focus our energy and resources. They are:

Truth- Without truth we have nothing. No message, no boundaries, no hope, no foundation. Our first priority is to lead people to the truth of who Jesus is. Only when our lives and ministry are based upon truth can we glorify God.

Passion- The fruit of truth in the life of a believer is a passion to see God glorified in all things. Therefore we bring a sense of urgency and purpose to everything we do. Passion is the expression of that urgency and purpose and it is the fuel that drives the calling in our lives.

Relevance- Our passion has no impact without presence. Relevance is putting yourself in a position to matter in the lives of people where they live. We will be in tune with our culture and the needs of our community. West Baton Rouge is who we are and it will be different because we are here.

Community- The impact we make will be in an effort to not only introduce
people to the universal community of believers but also to develop a loving and vibrant local community of believers. They will know us by our love for one another. Nothing says unconditional love in our fractured society today more than sincere compassion and a sense of family.

Movement- At the end of the day all of the talk and ideas must lead to something. Do something. Our church is not an institution holding it's ground but rather a movement gaining ground. Fluid thinking and sensitivity to the leadership of the Holy Spirit keeps us fresh and dependent.
